Dear Matthew Dear,

Matthew Dear has enjoyed a fairly extensive career under a few different monikers, including False (on Richie Hawtin's Plus 8 and Minus labels), Jabberjaw (on the Perlon label), Audion (on Ghostly International's dance-oriented offshoot Spectral Sound), and also as just plain Matthew Dear (on both Spectral and Ghostly). His latest effort, Asa Breed, takes a fascinating journey from minimal techno to dance to gritty almost-country. If you listened to them separately, it would almost seem impossible that the first track and the last track of Asa Breed are from the same album, but Matthew Dear is a master of transition, and somehow the whole thing makes perfect sense. Get the Asa Breed CD by Matthew Dear for just $13.99 plus shipping. What a bargain!
